LED Pool Spotlights

Thanks to the LED lighting system, we achieve the same amount of light as conventional spotlights. The difference is that it is achieved with lower electrical consumption. That is undoubtedly its great advantage. With LED lighting, we can achieve the best light performance with low consumption.

With LED spotlights, we can create special lighting atmospheres in a pool. Both at night and in indoor pools, creating a beautiful visual impact. Obtaining the best results in lighting and decoration, at a really low consumption, and enjoying all its advantages. That is why, we find that currently the use of LED for pools is the most common.

Lights for Above Ground Pools

If our pool is above ground, we can have decorative and fun lighting. We have many options to choose from: white light, lights of different colours that can change in sequences.

Also, they are LED lights, so we will have low consumption lighting. Some of them are solar, hydroelectric, battery or rechargeable, an endless number of possibilities so we can find the one that best suits our needs.

Electrical Materials

We have transformers for connecting spotlights, with different powers. You must ensure to choose the appropriate power for correct operation.

We also have electrical materials for underwater connections and lighting systems. In addition to sealing joints and a wide variety of niches for spotlights. We can find underwater connection kits that include submersible switches or electrical materials such as joints for projectors.

Automatic Light Control

We have mixed systems that allow controlling both the lighting and the pool filtration. This provides us with greater comfort and peace of mind, as we have the pool disinfection in our hands. We can choose between a control panel for the filter pump or a control panel for the pool cleaner. This way, we automate the disinfection of our pool in a comfortable and simple way. They are designed for both above ground and in-ground pools.

The convenience is completed by being able to control all this from our mobile phone. It is available in many of our models.

How to Light a Pool?

To light a pool, you need to consider: the necessary spotlights, the height at which to place them, the position of the lights, and above all the shape of the pool. With a rectangular shape and medium size, one spotlight at each end is a good option.

Pool lighting is a very common topic. When good weather arrives, we don't want to swim only in sunlight. We want to enjoy our pool for as many hours as possible, and we all know that night swims have a lot of charm. But besides night lighting, there are many more reasons to want to light our pool. Good lighting always gives an aesthetic touch to a pool. Even if we don't swim, it will be a beautiful landscape to observe. We must also not forget that our pool can be indoor, so it will also need good lighting. Whatever the reason, we will explain the basic concepts to consider when designing and choosing pool lighting.

How Many Spotlights Does a Pool Need?

The number of spotlights depends on the pool dimensions. One spotlight for every 20m2 of water surface would be a correct distribution to achieve complete pool lighting. This way, we achieve uniform pool illumination.

Surely this is one of the first questions that come to mind. Especially to organise the distribution in the pool, and also economically, to know how much we will have to invest. As we have seen, it depends on the pool dimensions, but this general rule of one spotlight for every 20m2 would be a correct distribution.

At What Height Should Pool Spotlights Be Installed?

Pool spotlights are usually installed about 70cm from the top edge of the pool. This measurement is useful because if at any time a repair or simply maintenance is needed, we can access from outside the pool without having to empty it. Also, at this height, optimal lighting of the pool interior is achieved.

How to Place Pool Spotlights?

We can place them in many ways. But ideally, position them opposite the house to avoid glare. It is also important to consider the shape of the pool. For rectangular medium-sized pools, one spotlight at each end is a good option.

How to place the spotlights is another big question about pool lighting. You should know that there is no single correct option to light a pool. We can play with our creativity to achieve the lighting effect we want. What is true is that there are formulas that work to achieve uniform pool lighting.

Usually, pools are located near the house, so ideally, all lighting should be placed opposite the house. This way, we avoid glare inside the home. A key factor in designing pool lighting is its shape.

Spotlights in small rectangular pool

Small Rectangular Pools

For pools approximately 6m long and about 4m wide, one spotlight is enough. Ideally, install it at one end to achieve lighting along the entire length of the pool.

Spotlights in medium rectangular pool

Medium Rectangular Pools

For a medium size, we are talking about a pool about 8m x 4m. In this case, two spotlights are necessary. One at each end of the pool. This way, we achieve perfect lighting along the entire length of the pool. Also, by placing the spotlights at opposite ends, we ensure that if any obstacle falls into the pool, it will cast a shadow and we will always see it.

Spotlights in large rectangular pool

Large Rectangular Pools

For pools about 12 metres long, it is better to opt for spotlights along one of the pool walls, distributed systematically. A distance of 2.5m between them is sufficient, leaving 1.5m from the ends of the side. This type of lighting, besides being useful for long private pools, is also very useful for competition pools. It achieves uniform lighting of the entire pool and does not dazzle swimmers.

Spotlights in L-shaped pool

L-Shaped Pools

In these pools, lighting must be treated as if they were two independent pools. One part is rectangular, and the other forms the L shape. Ideally, light the long part of the pool on one side, just like in rectangular pools, and then light the stairs area. Also, if we place a spotlight at one of the ends, we will achieve more complete lighting.

If we have a medium-sized pool, about 8 metres long, the lighting would be the same as rectangular pools, with two spotlights, one at each end.
