What are LED recessed spotlights?
LED recessed spotlights are not flat at the back. They have a recess, which is embedded into the wall. To install them, it is necessary to make a hole in the wall to fit the recess inside. This way, the spotlight does not protrude from the wall.
LED recessed spotlights are called this because they have a body at the back. This rear part is called the recess. Inside it contains the entire electrical mechanism of the spotlight. The recess is embedded in the pool wall. Therefore, it is necessary to make a hole in the wall to insert the recess and the spotlight. The cable for the electrical installation comes out from the same recess.
Perhaps, if we think that the entire electrical mechanism has to go at the back of the spotlight, we imagine that this part will be very bulky. Nothing could be further from the truth. Increasingly, LED recessed spotlights manage to have all the mechanism in an increasingly flat frame. Much flatter than what we are used to in conventional lighting.
Due to their installation system, LED recessed spotlights can also be found as recessed spotlights or spotlights to embed in pools. They are also easily associated with the name PAR56. This is because these spotlights are specially designed for PAR56 LED bulbs. Therefore, with this variety of names, we are talking about the same thing: LED PAR56 recessed spotlights.

Advantages and disadvantages of LED PAR56 recessed spotlights
Advantages
The great advantage of LED PAR56 recessed spotlights for pools is that if it burns out, it is not necessary to change the entire spotlight. It is possible to change only the lamp. This saves time and money. At first, these spotlights may be more expensive, but later when making this type of replacement they are more economical.
Aesthetically, it also offers us advantages. Being lighting that is embedded, the entire spotlight is flush with the wall, it does not protrude at all. This is practical on one hand, because we do not find anything that gets in the way. And aesthetically it is completely integrated into the pool, as if it were part of it.
Disadvantages
We really could not say that this is a disadvantage. We just have to keep in mind that we have to make this hole in the wall to embed the spotlight. Or, already have a PAR56 spotlight installation in the pool.
In which pools can LED recessed spotlights be installed?
As we mentioned earlier, if the pool is already built, it must have an installation for PAR56 spotlights. Otherwise, they are also recommended for pools under construction, so that the installation can be carried out.
But the most important thing is that recessed spotlights can only be used in in-ground pools.
How are recessed spotlights installed in pools?
The installation of a LED PAR56 recessed spotlight is simple. We will explain it in simple steps:
1 - We disassemble the recess.
2 - We pass the cable through the connection outlet of the inner cover and the outer cover.
3 - We strip the cable end and screw it to the LED lamp.
4 - We place the lamp with the cable connected to the inner cover. We check that it fits perfectly.
5 - We adjust the outlet to prevent water from passing through.
6 - We screw the projector to the inner cover.
7 - We make sure all screws are well tightened, including the side ones. This ensures total waterproofing.
8 - We secure all outlets.
9 - We incorporate it into the outer cover and screw it in.
10 - We place the protective mask.
Can halogen lighting be replaced by LED recessed spotlights?
If we have an installation made with PAR56 recess but with halogen spotlights and now we want to switch to LED lighting, it is not a problem. We can replace the old spotlights with the new LED recessed spotlights. In this video we can see how to do it:
In short, with LED recessed spotlights we can enjoy all the advantages offered by LED technology applied to our pool. We can use them in pools that already have a PAR56 installation, or pools under construction where this installation can be carried out. Their main advantages are that when a replacement is needed, it is not necessary to change the entire spotlight and that aesthetically they are integrated as part of the pool.
