Battery-powered pool cleaners
Battery-powered pool vacuums are part of the tools and equipment we need that are very useful in our pool. They are part of small cleaning devices that vacuum small parts, corners, and pool or spa steps. Having a battery-powered pool cleaner allows us to reach those corners where sometimes an electric or hydraulic pool cleaner cannot reach, and we need to leave the pool spotless. Its function is very simple and consists of a vacuum similar to car vacuums, with a rechargeable battery that can provide up to one hour of cleaning, or even up to 2 hours for the most powerful models. They are very easy to use and do not operate independently. They require manual handling to move, as the only function of the battery is to vacuum. The advantage of these battery-powered pool vacuum models is that they are very lightweight and compact, allowing us to reach everywhere. They have a filter that collects debris, which is very easy to remove and clean. Many models are compatible with poles to better move the battery vacuum to the deepest parts of the pool or spa.

What exactly is a battery-powered wireless pool vacuum?
Battery-powered pool vacuums or handheld battery vacuums are small-sized pool cleaners that differ from robotic pool cleaners in several ways. Handheld battery pool vacuums are small and are usually used to vacuum small areas in our pool or spa that we cannot clean with a manual brush, or even areas that our electric or hydraulic pool cleaner does not vacuum.
Vacuum models basically consist of 4 parts: the suction mouth or centre, the debris filter, the battery and motor at the heart of the vacuum, and the handle to hold it. What these battery-powered pool vacuums do is suck water through a low-power propulsion pump that usually has a flow rate between 90 litres and 120 litres per hour depending on the model. The batteries are small and can last between 40 and 90 minutes of autonomy. Most wireless pool vacuums have a charging connection directly on the vacuum, without having to remove the battery, while other models require removing it and placing it in the corresponding charger.
Many models have a handle with an adapter to fit a telescopic pool pole, with which we can manually pass the battery vacuum to areas we cannot reach. It is important to highlight that these vacuums have a limited suction capacity and are not autonomous, so we will always have to handle it ourselves to clean where we want. If we are looking for something more autonomous like a cleaning robot, we should look in our section for electric pool cleaners or cordless cleaning robots.
Which battery-powered pool vacuum do I need?
Basically, almost all models are the same; some differ in suction capacity, filter size, and battery capacity. At Outlet Pool we have a wide selection of wireless vacuums with different features and several brands that stand out such as BWT and GRE, the main manufacturers of this type of battery-powered vacuums. Below we detail some small aspects to consider that will help us choose the model that best suits our needs.
For small pools
It should be noted that handheld battery vacuums have a limited capacity, so it is important to consider what type of cleaning we want to use it for.
In our store, you can find battery-powered pool vacuum models that operate at low power, with rechargeable batteries recommended only for small-sized above-ground pools such as Intex pools for children, or small inflatable pools for babies like the Pole models from the Gre or Intex brands.
We also have other models with integrated rechargeable batteries with longer autonomy times from 45 minutes with flow rates of 90 litres/hour with a standard filter. They are suitable for daily pool cleaning to remove small debris like leaves, dust, and some others with fine particle filters for small waste such as dust or mud.
For spas and jacuzzis
Jacuzzis, having great depth and different levels such as seats and areas where dirt accumulates, need to be cleaned regularly with a handheld vacuum. In this case, we need to consider vacuums with circular tips to avoid damaging the spa acrylic and to reach into the corners of the jet nozzles and cavities.
They also work very well in inflatable spas with flat bottoms since they cannot be cleaned in any other way due to the lack of a suction nozzle for hydraulic pool cleaners. In most of these types of tubs and spas, it is necessary to use the pole to reach the deep parts.
Battery-powered pool vacuum brands
At Outlet Pool we have different brands of wireless pool vacuums. We work with the best brands on the market such as Gre Pool and BWT, which have the most battery vacuum models in their catalogue.
