Dosing Pumps
Dosing Pumps are an excellent product to maintain favourable conditions in your pool water. They function to supply chemicals in an exact and precise amount to treat the water and ensure its healthy state. Dosing Pumps, in the context of pools, can inject disinfectant products or substances that help maintain a neutral pH level. Therefore, dosing pumps guarantee that the water is clean and allow swimming by preventing the appearance of unwanted organisms. An ideal accessory for your pool that ensures the safety of swimmers.

Reviews of Dosing Pumps
What is a Dosing Pump?
The dosing pump is a high-precision device designed to inject the exact amount of chemical product into the pool water. What makes this type of pump so attractive for water maintenance and care is its millimetre-precise ability to measure and supply the chemical.
The dosing pump is, as its name suggests, a pump that injects a liquid product into other fluids. Its incredible technological design makes it a widely used machine in many diverse industries, as it offers very high effectiveness in administering the exact and appropriate amount.
In the field of pools, its function is to dose disinfectant or pH regulator products. It boasts the ability to adjust the flow rate in a straight line on the graph relating pressure and flow. As the pressure increases in the pipe or system where the chemical is injected, the pump must be able to supply the indicated flow amount. Unlike centrifugal pumps, which distribute more substance under lower pressure conditions, making them an inaccurate type of machinery.
Therefore, the dosing pump must allow adjustment of the supplied flow rate to achieve maximum precision when administering the chemical. This way, even if the pressure varies, the flow remains constant.
To be completely effective and safe to handle, it must be built leak-proof. When dealing with chemical products, it is crucial that there are no product losses that could endanger people or the surrounding environment. In its innovative design, there are 3 qualities that the dosing pump must meet to guarantee its effectiveness:
Repeatability: Measurements taken over a short period, always under the same conditions, by the same person.
Precision: It must be capable of achieving the same results with different measurements, always performed under the same conditions.
Reproducibility: It must be able to provide the same optimal and exact dosing result in different measurements carried out by different people over time.
Types of Dosing Pumps
Dosing Pumps by Drive
They are classified according to the motor that drives their operation. Although there are several types, the most common are electromagnetic or solenoid-driven pumps, and those powered by an electric motor.
Electromagnetic or solenoid pumps.
A solenoid is a coil made of wire in a spiral shape placed over a cylindrical frame that creates a magnetic field. By creating this magnetic field, enough energy is generated to start the motor and operate the device. This type of pump is usually recommended for low flow rates and pressures.
Electric motor pumps.
Used for higher flow rates and pressures. They have a very wide power capacity range, always maintaining precision in dosing the product. They allow adjustment of dosing power according to the motor speed.
Dosing Pumps by Head
Peristaltic Pump
This type of pump does not incorporate valves, making them very useful for supplying solid or highly viscous products. They have a simple assembly and perform dosing in a very hygienic manner. When injecting chlorine or another disinfectant product, they do not contaminate it thanks to their aseptic and safe handling. They are great purchase options when you want to maximise the effectiveness of certain fluids and avoid contaminating them during treatment. They also work with corrosive acids and other products containing air.
Some of their areas of use:
In wastewater treatment: For dosing very viscous media.
In drinking water treatment: For supplying disinfectants.
Cooling circuits: Dose corrosion inhibitors and biocides.
General: Can dose chemical substances up to 410 l/h.
Diaphragm Pumps
With positive displacement, diaphragm pumps generate pressure by pushing elastic walls called diaphragms. The movement of the diaphragms creates suction and propulsion of the product to be dosed through the valves.
They are a very economical type of pump. All pumps in this category share the same technology in performing their function but can differ in their technical characteristics.
You can find a wide variety of diaphragm pumps with various features:
Submersible and non-submersible models.
Ability to handle critical materials reliably and safely.
Oil-free and obstruction-free operation.
Dry running capability.
Explosion-proof.
Adjustable flow rate and head height.
Final speed and pressure regulation.
Simple and easy maintenance.
