Reviews of Inflatable Spas
What is an inflatable spa?

An inflatable spa is an item similar to traditional jacuzzis. It works exactly the same, providing the benefits and relaxation offered by a jacuzzi, bubble bath, and hot water. However, in this case, the price is more affordable and no construction work is needed; these are portable jacuzzis that do not require complicated installations.
These are portable spas that can be assembled and disassembled at any time, to place it in the part of the house that suits us best on each occasion.

Features of inflatable spas

The inflatable spa has a structure that, as its name indicates, inflates.
It can come in different shapes: round, square, oval or octagonal, for example. Also, these spas come in various sizes, with models for 2 people up to 8. The water height of these spas can vary between 60 and 70 cm. This means that, depending on the model, we can submerge up to the chest or shoulders. Enough to feel the relaxing power of the bubbles. Regarding the structure itself, it can be made from different materials, although it is usually made of a lightweight and very resistant coating consisting of several layers of assembled PVC. The material, both inside and outside, is robust and very flexible, which, besides ensuring a relaxing and comfortable bath, will make the inflatable jacuzzi have a very long lifespan.
Regarding the machinery of inflatable spas, we can say that it is integrated into a block or technical room placed outside the spa, like a backpack.

This part of the spa includes the filtration system, the motor or filtration pump, the filtration cartridge as well as the jacuzzi heating system. This external part also incorporates the air pump that pushes air through different outlets to create the characteristic bubbles of a jacuzzi.
This technical unit is connected to a control unit that allows us to independently adjust filtration, heating, and air output to generate the bubbles.

Tips for buying an inflatable spa

When buying an inflatable spa, it is necessary to consider some aspects. For example, we can base our choice on aesthetics. Although the conventional shape is round, remember there are also square, oval, or even octagonal spas.
Let's consider the place where we want to put it to choose the best shape, as well as the capacity of the inflatable jacuzzi, which can range from 2 to 8 seats.
Measure the space and think that larger inflatable spas provide more room for each bather. For example, a 4-person spa will be much more spacious and comfortable for 2 adults.
Advantages and disadvantages of an inflatable spa
If you are unsure whether to invest in an inflatable spa, it might be helpful to know its advantages and disadvantages.

Maintenance is easy, simple, and economical.
Wide variety of sizes and shapes.

Much more affordable than conventional jacuzzis.
Disadvantages of inflatable spas
Initial time to heat the water is somewhat long.
Motor noise is a bit louder than conventional jacuzzis.
Although durable, they can never compare to a conventional jacuzzi or built-in pool.
The technical room or backpack is not aesthetic, although discreet.
How to install an inflatable spa
One of the most important things is to check the ground where we will install the inflatable spa
It must be a completely level surface.
Also, the space should always be near a water source to fill it.
We must also have a power outlet to filter the water, heat it, and operate the air pump to start the bubble bath.
The spa should be as sheltered as possible from the wind.
Reducing exposure will greatly decrease water heating costs.
Once we choose the right place, we must spread the protective tarp.
We must also place the spa body and inflate it. Depending on the model and size, there are different options. Many include an electric inflator to facilitate installation and inflation.
It is important to always check the spa pressure with the supplied manometer to ensure it is at the optimal point. Once the spa is inflated, we must connect the portable technical room or backpack. It is a very simple operation, although do not forget to read the installation manual of the chosen model.

Maintenance and treatment of an inflatable spa
Water maintenance
The pH level should be checked and balanced regularly as in any pool. Additionally, we must regularly add treatment for water disinfection; in inflatable spas, the use of Bromine is recommended since traditional Chlorine loses effectiveness in high-temperature water as is the case here. Also, it is advisable to use algaecide to prevent algae formation, especially when the spa is outdoors. These treatments should be applied using a floating dispenser. If products are poured directly into the water, the spa structure may deteriorate faster and could even be perforated, especially with chlorine use. There are testers that indicate the amount of products needed for the spa. Besides treatment, it is useful to use special spa vacuum cleaners and regularly change the water. It is recommended to change a quarter of the water volume weekly. Also, a full water change is recommended every two months.
Filter maintenance
The filter cartridge should be changed approximately every 2 months, although it depends on spa usage. The important thing is to check its condition regularly. If it is very dirty, it is time to replace it. Its lifespan can be extended by soaking the filter in special products for inflatable spa filter care.
Structure maintenance
The spa structure also needs care. It is important not to expose it too much to the elements. Even if outdoors, always try to place the jacuzzi cover. Also, it is a product that does not tolerate winter very well. It is recommended that during periods of low temperatures, it is deflated and stored in a dry place protected from frost. If you want to enjoy the inflatable spa during winter, place it under a covered terrace, inside the house, or in an indoor pool area.
